One wonderful way to bond with your dog is to train your dog some tricks. Training will require a lot of patience and perseverance on the part of the dog owner. But, the rewards are so fulfilling. Dog training ensures that your animal will become very capable of thinking on his own and thus, able to do some errands when you want them to. The result is a smarter dog.
Your dog must learn some human words. This is the first step in dog training. From there, more advanced levels can be done and the dog can proceed to ‘search’ trainings. You will be able to teach your dog to find certain objects. Now, you better be sure that your dog can really understand some words before this happens.
You can line up six or seven objects in front of your dog. Then teach your dog what those objects are. After this, you can teach your dog how to locate a specific object. Be sure that the objects that will be lined up are familiar to your dog, this can be his favorite toy or some food dish.
For example, his treasured toy or foodstuff is definitely ideal starter objects. At this point position the specific object you wish him to locate alongside a group of other, unfamiliar items. The other objects needs to be comprised of uninteresting, non-attractive things, for instance a book, or a glass, etc. The explanation for this is to make it less complicated for him to make the apparent option when first being unveiled in this trick.
At this point point your finger to all of the items which are lying down on the ground and say to your dog to “Find The Toy”. Without very much doubt he should place the correct item in his mouth, and once he does, shower him with encouragement and present a goody. If your pet dog by now understands how to fetch then ask him to bring the toy again to you. And when he does not realize how to retrieve then this is an excellent occasion to get him commenced!
You can go to the next step as soon as your dog knows how to pick a specific object over and over. Then, you can show him another object, perhaps a small ball. Tell him what it is and show him where you will hide the object. Then, after he is very keen in this particular trick, you can give him a more advanced training by letting him search for an object that has been hidden without him knowing where it is.
In case your dog retrieves the wrong object, tell him, “no, wrong.” Let him find the object again until he succeeds. Proper guidance is a must.
It is not that simple to train a dog how to look for things, but your patience and perseverance will elevate your dog’s intelligence further. With this skill, your dog will eventually be able to do some house chores for you like picking the newspaper every morning and looking for some misplaced items.
